Apple owes Proview $60 million for iPad trademark says Chinese court

Apple has apparently been ordered by the Guangdong High People’s Court court to pay million dollars to Proview Technology, the Chinese company with which they’ve had a longstanding dispute over the iPad trademark.
Apple has maintained they bought all legal rights to the iPad name in a previous, global transaction back in 2009, but the first Proview, and now the Guangdong court has disagreed. On the bright side:
The settlement ends a potential legal complication to selling the popular iPad in China, one of Apple’s most important markets.
